We have been bringing the whole family here for years. The dentist and hygienists are all caring and do a great job keeping our teeth clean and healthy! The front office is comfortable and nicely decorated, and I trust them

I had chipped my front teeth and had 2 crowns put in by a previous dentist a few years ago and wasn't satisfied with the results. As they are my front teeth they're very visible so it was important to get them done properly. A friend recommended Dr Abdeshahian to me, he made me feel very comfortable which for someone who doesn't like the dentist was very important. He did a great job and I am very happy with my new crowns. I can't recommend Dr Abdeshahian highly enough.

Just had my teeth cleaned and polished by Nicole. She did and awesome job. Walked away with a bright smile and a bag of free teeth cleaning supplies.
Back in 6 months. I would come here more often, but a hate going to the dentist...any dentist.

These guys make going to the dentist a great experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, their manager Jackie is super personable and funny, and they always do a great job. I just had my appointment on Tuesday (4/12), which Jackie was so nice to squeeze me in at the last moment! I had to get my top 2 wisdom teeth out. The whole office made sure to make it as easy going and comfortable for me as possible. The office is beautiful, staff members are amazing!! Dr. Scott Karafin is the one who took care of me and he was so nice, and made sure I was comfortable through out the procedure! They kept checking on me to make sure I was ok while I was waiting for Dr. Karafin. Jackie, the Office Manager is also wonderful!! She is so nice and helpful. She answered as many questions as she could before my appointment via email and the day after my procedure, even though they gave me the instructions on everything to do, I still had some questions and Jackie responded quickly and efficiently to my email. I really recommend this place!

It's really hard to find a good dentist nowadays, which also goes for a medical doctor. My old dentist offered me procedures which were not necessary and always making me feel like i have been cheated. This dentistry did not make me feel that way. Dr. Karafin has a great smile himself and ensures that you are getting a good care and only absolute necessary care. So glad we found this dentistry.

This place is amazing and that not an exaggeration! My fianc and I came here for the first time today. We got a cleaning and teeth whitening.

The staff are caring and polite. The dental hygienist was gentle and attentive to my needs (I have super sensitive teeth). The woman that did my teeth whitening walked me through the whole process so that i was at ease the whole time. The office manager even came around to hi and ask us how we were doing.

Everyone here is amazing I can't wait to come back.

In all of my years of being absolutely terrified of the dentist, I have finally found an honest practice that doesn't terrify me! I recently moved from the inland empire and had to relocate all of my doctors. Being absolutely terrified of the dentist, I came across SoCal Smiles. Dr. Karafin & his team are absolutely amazing. They are all about coming up with a plan that fits your needs & being honest about price and time frame. Ashley, the hygienist, had a huge under taking with my teeth and completely conquered everything quickly and effectively. Dr. Karafin was very honest about what I needed and made sure I wouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg for my visit. They are the absolute best! I have nothing but great things to say about this office, this team, and this doctor! If you're looking for a new dentist, this is the practice you'll want to be at.

I have been coming to SoCal Smiles for my dental check ups and cleanings for several years. Yesterday, I had another regular once every 6 months visit. I know a lot of people dread dental visits, but coming to this office is a totally different story. The stuff is always friendly and helpful. When my hygienist Nicole did my teeth cleaning, it felt so relaxing and peaceful as if I was at the spa instead of the dental office. Thank you!

After having an awful experience with another local dentist office this place restored my faith. They were GREAT. The dental hygienist who did my deep clean (I think her name is Ashley) was fabulous! They gave me a treatment plan up front with all my costs and they had it broken down by visit. I actually feel very comfortable here and know that they are not trying to just take my money for unnecessary procedures. I am glad to have found a dentist close to home that I absolutely love going to!

I have never had such a positive experience EVER at a dentist. I was with my old dentist since I was a little girl, but the ladies and Dr. hit this visit out of the park. I brought in my two daughters and I was scheduled to come in another day, but they figured out how to get us all in! For my youngest this was her first visit ever and she was very scared as to what to expect. At the end of her visit she was smiling and happy. I think I even heard her talking and singing at one point. I can't wait for future appointments and would most definitely refer anyone here. Thank you all for an amazing experience!

So I came here because my previous dentist was quite possibly the most cruel and scary person ever, one who takes pleasure in inflicting pain upon people she deems worthy of torture. I am so glad I decided on so Cal smiles. I met with the dentist and he said as of right now, my teeth are somewhat salvageable without a root canal! I am so glad to hear that.

Dr. Karafin was very professional and understanding, although he didn't prescribe me any legitimate painkillers even though I'm in legitimate pain, I would still recommend him.

I've suffered enough at the hands of Dr. Mad woman. I'll re write this review after my first visit. The only thing we did at first was a consultation and treatment plan, which was pleasant enough.

Jackie is the best. She has a great personality and very customer service oriented. She is very thoughtful of my girls supplying them with crayons and coloring sheets. Jackie even took the time to review my dental insurance and advised me my best options.

Dr. Karafin and his staff are great. They were on-time, courteous, and professional.

I had to change dentists due to an insurance change. It was with trepidation that I went to Dr. Karafin at SoCal Smiles. I have been twice and could not be happier. The office staff is friendly and knowledgeable. My hygienist ( sorry, fit got her name) is friendly and knowledgeable and Dr. Karafin made me very comfortable. A great experience.

Totally in love with SoCal Smiles! I have had my fair share of dental work done in the past, and by multiple dentists. I am pleased to say that I am very impressed by this dental office!

I hadn't been to the dentist or hygienist in about two years and knew that my mouth needed some TLC. I called and was able to get an appointment right away! Went in for an exam, full X-rays, and a cleaning.

Started off with a thorough exam that included a mouth cancer screening too! The X-rays performed were all digital and was told that the device they use actually emits less radiation! A series of photos were also taken. My cleaning went very well and was also, very thorough. I have never had such a head-to-toe/top-to-bottom cleaning, and exam before! They CARE! :)

Next, Dr. Karafin came in and discussed what he saw from the X-rays and photos. From there he explained everything that I needed to get done, as well as, what was more important to get done first.

Jackie at the front is totally awesome too! She mapped out a whole plan for me that included a list of costs and procedures, broken up per appointment. She worked with me and my insurance plan so everything worked out seamlessly.

I am excited to have a dental team who cares about what they do! I'll keep posting after each appointment since I need quite a lot done :/ #bittersweet At least I have confidence that I will be taken care of!

UPDATE: 12/7/16
Just went in for the replacement and expansion of two fillings plus a crown! So far I am pleased with the results... just waiting on my permanent crown. It should arrive in two weeks or so. Everything took about 2 and a half hours and I was comfortable the whole time!

This dental place is amazing. I have been going here for the past 7 years and absolutely love it. The front desk Jackie is amazing and will work with you patiently and try to work out an affordable plan for you. Dr Karaffin is great and has done wonders for my teeth, none the less the staff are very friendly and make you feel comfortable . I highly recomend this place for anyone looking for a great dental place.

I have been to my fair share of dentists in the past, but Dr. Karafin and his amazing team are by far the best. Everyone is so welcoming and professional. It makes me feel a little better about having to go to the dentist.

Have been going to SoCal Smiles for several years now and they don't ever disappoint with each visit. Their dental expertise and patient care is unsurpassed -- I actually look forward to each visit because I know I'm taking care of my dental hygiene and am in the best hands for whatever procedure is needed. That said, they never coerce me to have anything done I'm not comfortable with -- there's never a hard sell for work that's needed -- just a consultation and then the decision is always left up to me without any pressure. WE have been going to So Cal Smiles for years now and absolutely Love our Dentist and the Staff. They are so warm and friendly from the moment you walk in. I absolutely love coming to SoCal Smiles! I recently got two fillings done here with Dr. Karafin and was extremely pleased with my experience! Prior to the filling, Dr. Karafin was extremely thorough in his explanations and made sure that he answered all of my questions. I appreciate his innovative use of intra-oral photos during the consultation.

Although previous procedures with other dentists left me in pain, my appointment here was nothing but wonderful and I left with no discomfort whatsoever. Dr. Karafin was not only meticulous but also gentle when working on me--a quality that I appreciate in a dentist. Also, his assistant Stephanie was fantastic and very caring. She made sure that I was comfortable at all times, frequently asked me how I was feeling, and even went as far as taking the bite block out of my mouth so that I could have a break during downtime. Overall, the procedure was quick, easy and painless!

In short, all of the staff members of SoCal Smiles are truly phenomenal and I will definitely refer my friends and family here. If you want a dental office that always goes the extra mile, this is the place to go. Thank you SoCal Smiles!

Tried this office since they were on our insurance. Very friendly and responsive front office, a dentist who is thorough and listens, a tech who was very nice and thorough and finally Nicole who did a fantastic and comprehensive cleaning. Will send the rest of my family now!

Was just in for another cleaning and check up. What I really respect is that Dr. Karafin is conservative in any treatment you may need. I've been to other offices where they are pushing treatment on you for the sake of the dollar. I was hesitant at first staying with the office when the change took place a few months back, but not anymore. I've come to trust their services and will continue coming here along with my family of 5. Also the office staff is wonderful, along with Jackie who does a great job and is always helpful.

Dr. G always does the most wonderful job with my dental work. I have been coming to him since I first moved to O.C. eight years ago. I wouldn't even THINK of going to anyone else. He provides such magnificent dental care.

His staff is exceptional, as well, especially his hygienist, Meena. She, too, is superlative. Dr. G. wouldn't hire anyone who wasn't.

So when on a Friday at 4:45 pm would you call your dentist with your mouth swollen and think you would get a call back and the infection being handled until you can meet at the office? Yes here. This Dr Ganarta, his office Mgr jackie will listen to your voice mail and call you.  Very impressive and thank you Dr G. As a lot of people out there, including my family...we were SCARED of the dentist! The stigma of drills, cavities, fillings ect was not something you like to deal with ... BUT Dr. Sidhu and Dr. Ganatra have been amazing! They are so gentle, painless and understanding of my fears! The whole staff at SoCal Smiles have been nothing but nice and a fun environment! Who would have thought that I would get addicted to the dentist! They have really helped show me how to care for my teeth! SoCal Smiles has changed the way I view going to the dentist. I avoided seeing the dentist for several years, and as a result, had to find one in a hurry last year. On a friend's recommendation, I tried SoCal Smiles and they took great care of me.

Jackie and the rest of the staff has always been pleasant, helpful and exceptionally accommodating. So much so that I recently had my wife go visit them to take care of some dental work that had been poorly done by a different local dentist. She had left her previous dentist's office in tears after having painful and expensive work done with no compassion whatsoever. Furthermore, the work she had done was misaligned and fell apart within days. SoCal Smiles fixed her dental work the first time, and has shown her that there are dentist offices out there who truly care about their patients.

SoCal Smiles gets nothing but 5 stars from me. More companies should learn how to take care of their customers the way this team does. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dentist.

Before I met Dr. Ganatra, (Dr. G from here on) I absolutely hated going to the dentist.  
As a result, I kept delaying necessary dental care until I could not ignore it anymore.  
By the time I walked into Dr. G's office, I had several teeth badly chipped and cracked with old fillings falling apart.  Needless to say, I was apprehensive.  Would I need dental implants or would he be able to save my teeth?  I wondered if I had waited too long to seek treatment.

When Dr. G sat down with me to deliver the news, I was ready to hear the worst, but instead his friendly, positive, and reassuring attitude immediately allied my fears and concerns.  As he went over my treatment plan, it was quite apparent his primary concern was to save my teeth.  He took the time to explain in detail the treatment and answered many questions I had.  I was impressed with his care, concern, and honesty.

At the beginning of every visit Dr. G would go over the work that he was going to perform and during the procedure he would keep me informed of what he was doing and the progress he was making.  I found his communication and calm demeanor very reassuring. Dr. G along with his assistant Jessica, made every effort to make sure I was comfortable at all times.  Jessica is awesome at what she does.

I also want to mention the super friendly Jackie at the front desk.

As of this writing, my treatment has been completed and I am so pleased and happy with the results.  My teeth look great.  Dr. G has done an awesome job.  He restored my dental health and made me no longer hate or fear a dental appointment.

I have been going to this dentist office for several years. The staff is very professional and makes you feel very comfortable. I had a dental emergency on off hours and Dr. Ganatra came to the office when it was closed to help me! He is an amazing doctor! He genuinely cares about his patience.  Do yourself a favor and come to this office!

There is a positive aura right as you come in from the lobby to the chair, from the attitude from all working there!  Totally into what you are asking for and feeling good about all Dr Ganetra has to do to complete and keep your smile. Perfect name for his business. So fair in how you feel about the amount of work too you may need.  Does not make you feel guilty if you waited too long to be treated. Impressed to see so many men in the lobby to see the dentist.  Hard to get them to see their dentist!  Finally a dentist and staff that feels as comfy as you

I've been going to this dentist for a little over 3 years now. I had invisalign treatment for 2 of those years and the staff have become as close as family to me. I always feel welcome and at home in the office. I've never had problems with my insurance or the top notch treatment I've had there. Since invisalign I've only had teeth cleanings (thankfully) and no cavities but they're always gentle.

Stay away from the zoom whitening treatment there though, it hurts like hell and I didn't see a noticeable difference. It also made my teeth sensitive for several days afterwards. I got it free with the invisalign treatment and it wasn't what I expected at all.

Full disclosure: I hate dentists. I have awful anxiety and will do almost to avoid going. In the past i had a completely unnecessary root canal, a poorly made crown, and an in-office ceramic crown that is so short, it has affected my bite for three years. I have every reason to say terrible things about dentists.

However, So Cal Smiles has changed me. The office is very calming and appealing. The desk staff is so friendly and funny, they put me at ease the moment I walked in. Dr.G is completely understanding of crazy dental anxiety and explained everything before he did anything. He was patient and caring, didn't pressure me to have any procedures done, and then turned me over to Mina for a cleaning. She is awesome!! Gentlest cleaning ever, and took my mind off what was happening. I've been back for more cleanings and will definitely keep returning.

They take dental HMO insurance, which many places don't (unless they're a dental mill, and will tell you need procedures that
You didn't really need...). I completely recommend SoCal Smiles in RSM. You won't be disappointed.

Dr. Ganatra is by far the most professional dentist I have visited in the last thirty years.  Very thorough, courteous,  and above all willing to  care for my  dental needs. All done in a timely manner!

I was blown away from the quality of treatment and service I received from Dr. Abdeshahian. He walked me through everything so I felt comfortable and informed through everything. I highly reccomend Dr. Abdeshahian and SoCal Smiles.

True Story:  I had a real dental emergency about 3 years ago late on a Friday afternoon.  I called my regular dentist and was only able to leave a message with his answering service - I eventually received a call back on Monday morning.  In desperation, I searched for another dental office that could see me.  Thankfully, So Cal Smiles agreed to help at that late hour and I rushed over.  Not only was the dentist able to solve the issue promptly, but had me on my way in time to keep my Friday night plans!  I was so impressed with their willingness to respond to my situation that I switched my entire family over to the practice - hubby, daughters, father.  The dentists, hygienists and office staff have always been friendly and professional.  Issues with insurance can happen anywhere and people can make mistakes too.  It is how those issues are worked through and resolved that matters most.  I rarely give much consideration to reviews that involve name-calling and mud-slinging.  I highly recommend So Cal Smiles.

SoCal Smiles has been my dentist for almost 4 years now, and I have been really happy with them. Jackie and the other receptionists are always so friendly and they remember who you are when you come in, they even got us a baby gift when our son was born last year! Dr Ganatra is also very friendly and knowledgable, I have felt like he always offers great care when he is seeing me. Lastly, Danielle, who is my normal hygienist is great and very professional. Very happy with this place and would definitely recommend it.

Honestly, Dr. Abdeshahian and his staff were the most professional and knowledgeable people I've ever seen from a dentist office. It's really hard to find trustworthy dentists. Their work was great (I had a cavity). They took time to explain everything every step of the way. I was impressed by some fancy 3D imaging thingy. All of the technology they had in the office was new, and it really seemed like they were more "up-to-date" than any other office i've been to lately (i've had a lot b/c I move a lot for my job). highly recommended!

I had a very good experience....everyone is very professional in the office. Dr. Ganatra is the best....absolutely no pain from start to finish.

I have been going to SoCal smiles for about three years now and I love it! The front desk is so friendly and always ask how and what you have been up to! They remember you! Jackie is so sweet! Dr gantra use to be my dentist and than he started working at the Costa Mesa office. That was a bummer however if the three years I have been their I always had great dentist! Dr Gantra is back I believe full time at the Rsm location and now iman is at Costa Mesa, the company really has great dentist! My teeth cleaning was great and Jessica is an amazing assistant she always knows what to do. Thanks for always making me feel welcome!!!

I've been a patient at Socal Smiles in Rancho Santa Margarita for about 6 years and I don't see myself going anywhere else. Dr. Ganatra, Dr. Ly, Dr. Tran and all the other dentists who have treated me there are truly exceptional in every way. They spend time with me to explain everything clearly and make sure I have the most positive experience every single time. The office and dental staff are very helpful, friendly, gentle, competent and patient. The wait is very short. I get called in almost immediately after I check in. Everyone's caring and compassionate attitude makes me very comfortable during every visit. Dr. Ganatra did my cleaning last week in the absence of the office's hygienist that day and I was extremely pleased with his work. He is simply the best! I have had such terrifying experiences with dentists in the past, so I was very nervous trying SoCal Smiles today.  I have to say, from the moment I walked in the door I was greeting by the friendliest staff.  I felt comfortable and at ease.  The dentist was very friendly, professional and honest.  He didn't try to sell me a bunch of stuff I did't need and he didn't lecture me and make me feel bad.  Overall, the experience was positive and painless.  I'm thrilled to have a dentist that I'm not afraid to go to!

My grandson needed to have dental work done and was so scared but had been referred to Dr. Penrod's office by a friend. The office staff were friendly and professional, the appointments on time, and the 4-cavity filling experience was not a nightmare. Txxxx had a video screen playing a movie in front of him and head phones on, what a great distraction! All in all, I would highly recommend...

The customer service and top notch dental work can not be over rated. A well run business that puts the patient first above everything else. Wish I had this dental office service back in the day, but better late than never. Hope they stay in business for many years to come. Keep up the great work.

I have gone to this dentist office for 2 years now. My experience has always been extremely pleasant. With that being said I also haven't had any issues with my teeth, just the basic cleaning. The hygienists are all super nice and young. Very gentle and relatable. Dr. Ly(sp?) is amazing! She also is young and great at making you feel comfortable. She takes her time to explain processes or procedures with you including the how and why. The office is immaculate, beautiful, and they have great music playing.

This place is AMAZING!Loved it there!The doctor really cares about your dental health and recommends the best solution, she also takes her time to answer all your questions and explain everything. I strongly recommend them!

After being a dental assistant for about ten years and not being in the field. It was hard to find a great dentist for myself. Then I came across this office and love the how very detailed they were with my exam and cleaning. The dentist and his hygienist were very kind friendly and I felt very welcome. I also love the fact that were able to do a crown prep and deliver a crown that same day. No waiting for about two weeks for a crown to come from lab and no worries on temporary crowns.

I wouldn't go anywhere else!, I've been very blessed to have found this dentist,
Dr. Rinesh Ganatra is a pleasure to work with. I have never had a call back with his work, I have been going to this office for 7 or 8 years.
My first impressions of the company was formed around the circumstances where I  avoided the dentist for 10 years I was about 27 and my adolescent fillings wer falling out, Dr. Ganatra worked on me for a week and I was impressed with his skills, he is a young guy and  growing up I always had older dentists and so I wasn't sure what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised with his service, he always keeps a positive attitude smiles allot and seems to be genuinely concerned with his patients well being, the office is nice and has state of the art equipment,they have laboratory machines there wich means you don't have to wait and come back for most tooth repairs. I Recommend this office to you all.....Thanx God Bless

I have chronic headaches and recently I have been experiencing them more frequently with pain mostly on the left side of my neck and head. I thought about all possible reasons for them and considered a TMJ disorder a possibility. I called Dr. Grewal on Thursday and no questions asked she let me come to see her the next morning. She assessed me thoroughly and made an adjustment of my upper teeth. She gave me her professional advice which I trust is the best. I haven't had a severe headache or neck pain since then. I wouldn't go to any other dental office. Dr. Grewal, Dr. Ganatra and their nicest staff are an awesome group who go above and beyond the call of duty to help their patients. I've personally witnessed it so many times!

I suppose you could find a dental office as awesome as SoCal Smiles....BUT I'M NOT SURE HOW!  From the moment you walk in to the mellow reception area and are greeted by the ultra-friendly staff to the quality care you receive throughout, this is not your typical dental office.  I am consistently impressed by the high level of professionalism and the warm and welcoming nature of the staff.  Plus, the clinical care is as good as it gets.  Visit SoCal Smiles and you'll see what I mean...and you will have found your new dentist, I'm sure.

I've been going to this dentist for about 6 or 7 years.  Why I never wrote a review is beyond me.  Unfortunately, Dr. G. has moved out of state, but Dr. Ly who replaced her is great.  

The staff is friendly and helpful.  The dental assistants knowledgeable.  The dental work exceptional.  I highly recommend them.

Wow.  Wow-wee Wow-wee Wow.

This is seriously the best dentist I have ever been too.  From start to finish, the staff here genuinely cares about you and makes sure you know exactly what's going on.  Dr. Ly is super sweet and answered my questions thoroughly with an immense amount of compassion.  They don't make you feel like an anus for not being the best  at taking care of your teeth.  The offices are nice and the location is in comfortable ol El Paseo.

I highly recommend!
